Pull-Up
Also called: overhand pull-up, strict pull-up
No demo clip here — the movement is coached inside the session itself. Every workout in the library is a follow-along.
Coaching cues
- hands just outside shoulders, palms away
- set the shoulder blades before you bend the elbows
- pull the bar to your collarbones
- long, controlled lower every rep
Common mistakes
- swinging or kipping for momentum
- stopping with the chin short of the bar
- skipping the dead hang at the bottom
- shrugging into the ears instead of pulling down
Take care with: shoulder, elbow. Members who list these injuries never see this exercise in a program.
Easier: Chin-Up, Band-Assisted Pull-Up
Harder: Weighted Pull-Up
